At Baltorpskolen, a forward-looking educational institution in Ballerup, the learning environment has recently undergone a significant transformation thanks to the implementation of the X Connect intelligent lighting system. Developed in collaboration with Ballerup Municipality and installed by Claus Dalsgaard A/S, this project highlights the potential of modern lighting design to enhance both functionality and well-being in schools.
The system includes tunable-white technology, which automatically adjusts the color temperature and intensity of light throughout the day. This feature helps create a dynamic environment that supports students’ natural rhythms — energizing them in the morning and promoting calm and focus during lessons. With the additional integration of the X Connect Gateway, the system enables wireless control, remote management, and flexible zoning — allowing each space to be optimized for its specific use.
A variety of luminaire types from Imperial Lighting were selected for this project, including the Proline 60, Globo 350, and others. These lighting solutions were chosen not only for their performance and aesthetics but also for their energy efficiency and adaptability to future needs. The installation reflects a holistic approach to educational infrastructure, where lighting plays a critical role in shaping behavior, concentration, and comfort.
By providing a controllable, human-centric lighting setup, Baltorpskolen is now better equipped to meet the needs of its students and staff in a sustainable and forward-thinking way. This project stands as a strong example of how innovative lighting systems like X Connect can redefine the standard for public school environments.
